Species Description
The Phlogius Sp Sarina have a range of colours varying from light browns to almost black. A nice chunky spider with long thick legs. Reaches sizes of 160-200mm
Fang, my larger Sarina is usually a dark brown but lightens up to a nice light brown when Pre-Moult. She is not afraid to show you who's boss and will hiss if disturbed. She will rear up if provoked but preferes to run away. They are both active burrowers and lay allot of silk
24th April 08
Fang the Sarina arrived as a juvenile at around 60mm.
As you can see from the pics, she only has seven legs. This is due to a bad moult. Her leg was grown back with the next moult.
She also had mites at this time but a few months of keeping her tank almost bone dry was enought to dry out and kill the mites. A water bowl was in at all times for fang.

Fang moults whilst i was away, so no immediatly post moult pics and no 100% date
13th december
Fang looks very pretty in her post moult black colour. She will stay like this for a few months before she goes back to brown. Notice all eight legs. Although the one that grew back is the thinner, lighter one and is easily distinguished from the rest.
February 19th
Bubbles the 15mm 2nd instar arrived
A recent picture of Fang
March 26th
Bubbles moults into a 3rd instar spiderling. She is missing a leg as she raced out of the container when i opened the lid and while running on the carpet a leg got caught and she kept running.
They are extremely soft and fragile when post moult.
